In March 2010, our dear friend, Terri Mellon, found a job after being unemployed for six months due to lay-offs at her prior employer. Eight days later, doctors told her she had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.

She has courageously battled this disease with the help of an aggressive form of chemotherapy. In September, Terri will undergo a mastectomy.

She has always been a very strong woman and generously helps others while asking nothing in return. Well, it’s our turn to help her. She recently found out that her short term disability was denied because her cancer was considered a pre-existing illness. This means she will have no income during her 6-8 week recovery time. As anyone who has known someone with cancer understands, the co-pays and deductibles are quite expensive. And now she is facing two months without a salary in addition to these bills.

To help Terri during this time, we have created this website so that we can all be a part of her recovery.
